Founded in 2004, ECE began as an energy consulting firm and has since evolved into a trusted provider of home inspections and energy audits across Southwest Washington and Northwest Oregon. We specialize in both residential and commercial properties, combining deep technical expertise with a strong focus on energy efficiency and sustainability. While we primarily serve the Pacific Northwest, our team also supports specialized energy projects along the West Coast. With a foundation rooted in renewable energy and building science, we help property owners make smart, informed decisions that align with their financial and long-term goals.

The Founder
Elmar Niewerth holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Aachen, Germany. He was a licensed German contractor with certifications in Solar Electric and Thermal, Plumbing, Natural Gas, and HVAC systems. Since 2004, Elmar has provided expert consulting services nationwide in the US, to residential, commercial, and industrial clients.
Now based in the Pacific Northwest, he focuses on delivering thorough and reliable inspections as a Washington State Licensed Home Inspector.
In his free time, Elmar enjoys exploring the outdoors and spending time on the water.
