Monitoring Services
Power Performance Monitoring
Monitoring provides ongoing insight into how your building consumes energy in real time. For residential clients, it helps to identify patterns, unexpected spikes, or equipment issues that may impact comfort or utility bills. In commercial settings, continuous monitoring supports energy management goals, detects anomalies, and ensures that systems operate efficiently over time. This data-driven approach enables proactive maintenance, improved performance, and long-term cost savings.
Power Performance Tracker©
- We monitor the status of your solar & battery system and your house consumption on a daily basis with a weekly or monthly engineering review including reporting of any anomalies or unexpected issues.
- We will give you recommendations to save power wherever we find an opportunity.
- Tracking can be done “on top of” your existing software and hardware, or it can be done with the installation of some simple hardware (an ECE Gateway).
- The tracking system communicates via text messages or emails. These can include your own phone and email, the phone and email of your property manager, or the phone and email of your solar/battery installer.
- For technical questions or clarifications, you always can call or email our service team.
- There is a fixed monthly fee for the performance tracker. If we need to install additional equipment on your system, there will also be a one-time initial setup charge. Contact us for a quote.
While we recognize that you probably have this capability in the form of an “app” from the provider of your battery, inverter or solar system, this monitoring requires that you actively and regularly monitor your system. The ECE Performance Tracker removes this burden by keeping an extra set of eyes on your system.
Failure to detect a problem can be very costly, it may cost you hundreds or thousands of dollars in extra utility charges – and in the worst-case scenario, in the complete failure of your backup system that was intended to protect you against a power outage.
What We Offer - Any Customization is Possible:
-
Up Front Annual Energy Bill Evaluation and Consulting Services
For every Power Performance Tracker client, we begin with a detailed review of energy usage, tailored to your unique needs. We analyze historical utility data to uncover trends, inefficiencies, and unexpected consumption. For commercial clients, we also evaluate demand charges and their impact on total costs. Our findings guide a custom proposal—including hardware, installation, and monitoring services—designed to optimize efficiency and reduce monthly expenses through targeted improvements.
-
Hardware Installation Including Sensors and Cloud Communication with our Data Center
We handle the complete setup of sensors and communication equipment in your home or commercial/industrial facility. Internet access is not required—we use built-in cellular connectivity to securely transmit data to our cloud-based monitoring center. -
Monitoring Services and System Evaluation
We provide daily system monitoring with alarms triggered by thresholds to detect abnormal performance. In real time, we analyze collected data to identify malfunctions, inefficiencies, outdated equipment, or control issues. Our evaluations highlight opportunities for upgrades or adjustments that can reduce energy consumption, lower costs, and enhance occupant comfort—ensuring your systems consistently meet performance and efficiency goals. A monthly report is issued. -
Energy Demand Evaluation
The evaluation is critical for clients on demand-based utility tariffs, where charges are influenced not just by total energy use but by peak usage periods. We analyze when and how your building draws the most power, identifying patterns that trigger higher demand charges. By understanding and managing these peaks—often caused by HVAC cycles, industrial equipment, or simultaneous loads—we can recommend strategies to reduce demand spikes and lower monthly utility costs. This evaluation is essential for improving cost predictability and long-term energy efficiency. -
Controls & Automation Review
We analyze building automation systems (BAS), thermostats, lighting controls, and occupancy sensors to ensure systems run only when needed. -
On-Site Generation & Storage Review
We evaluate solar PV, solar thermal, batteries, and backup generators to ensure they integrate efficiently and are properly sized and utilized. -
Commercial/Industrial Processes Review
The review is a vital part of an energy audit for facilities with energy-intensive operations. We evaluate specific machinery, production lines, or process systems to identify inefficiencies, energy waste, and opportunities for optimization. This includes assessing runtime schedules, equipment performance, and interaction with other building systems. Targeted improvements can lead to substantial energy and cost savings without compromising productivity or output quality. -
Digital Energy Audit Report
You'll receive a clear, easy-to-navigate digital report that can be downloaded or shared instantly, giving you the insights you need to make informed decisions. -
Detailed Measure List Report
A prioritized list of recommended improvements or repairs based on audit findings, each linked to specific issues are identified in your report. Measures include estimated costs, energy savings potential, and simple payback calculations to help you make informed, cost-effective decisions.
